Paramedics have rushed two people to hospital following a double stabbing, marking Ilford’s third violent incident in just 24 hours. A man and woman, both in their 20s, were found with multiple injuries inside a house in Southbourne Gardens at 2.30pm yesterday (Wednesday, July 23).
Met Police say their primary suspect is still at large, and are making efforts to track them down. A large number of Met officers were pictured at the scene, just off Ilford Lane, into the late afternoon.
The pair are now recovering from injuries that are neither life-changing or life-threatening, the force confirmed. Witnesses say an air ambulance landed nearby in Loxford Park during the shocking incident.
Earlier the same day, a 30-year-old man was stabbed to death two miles away on Seven Kings’ Felbrigge Road. Two men and three women remain in police custody on suspicion of murder.
Then, a man in his 60s was treated for a head injury after a vicious assault on Ilford Lane at midday. Neither incident is thought to be connected.
A large cordon was also spotted on Walton Road in the early hours, with police later confirming a man’s body was found on the residential road. His death is currently being treated as unexpected – follow our live updates here.
