A man in his 60s has been rushed to hospital after being attacked in Ilford on Wednesday afternoon (July 23). At midday police rushed to Ilford Lane to reports of an assault.
The Metropolitan Police said the victim was found with injuries to the head and face and was taken to hospital. The force is yet to provide an update on his condition, although footage from the scene shows an air ambulance landing in a nearby park.
The attack reportedly happened inside a house, though this remains unconfirmed.
No arrests have been made so far in connection with the attack. MyLondon understands the attack took place inside a house along the East London street.
A spokesperson said: “At 12pm on Wednesday, July 23 officers and the London Ambulance Service responded to reports of an assault on Ilford Lane, Ilford.
“A man in his 60s was found with injuries to the head and face and was taken to hospital. We await an update on his condition. At this stage no arrests have been made.”
