I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! is set to return to our screens in the coming weeks
The highly anticipated new series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here will be coming to our screens in just a few weeks, showcasing a fresh roster of celebrity participants ready to face the infamous Bushtucker Trials.
The famous faces will soon be jetting off to Australia, though an official launch date for the series remains unconfirmed. I’m a Celebrity’s social media channels have released a teaser video for the 2025 series, captioned “‘Tis Nearly the Season,” with viewers expressing their enthusiasm for the upcoming ITV programme.
Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly are gearing up to return as hosts for another series, eagerly awaiting the celebrities’ descent upon Australia. Whilst we eagerly anticipate the return of the cherished ITV show, let’s explore the speculated participants, with several well-known figures already hinting at a potential jungle stint.
Lisa Riley
Emmerdale star Lisa Riley, recognised for her role as Mandy Dingle in the popular ITV soap, is reportedly being considered for this year’s Australian jungle adventure with sources suggesting she is in advanced discussions to participate, reports Wales Online.
A television insider told The Sun: “Lisa is the perfect celebrity for the show because not only is she from a soap watched by millions she’s one of its biggest characters and it’s an ITV show to boot.”
They added: “She also has a naughty, mischievous sense of humour which is guaranteed to get a big response from her other celebrity campmates during their time in the jungle. Lisa is by no means the first star from Emmerdale to have gone on I’m a Celebrity and those that do always tend to get a great response from viewers at home.”
Ruby Wax
Another celeb reportedly in advanced talks for the upcoming series is comedian Ruby Wax.
The 72 year old, best known for her work in Shock Treatment, Girls on Top and Chariots of Fire, is no stranger to stepping out of her comfort zone, having previously spent 10 days on a remote island for Channel 5 filming. The entertainer endured ten days in isolation in Madagascar filming her miniseries – Ruby Wax: Cast Away.
Discussing Ruby’s potential involvement in the ITV show, an insider revealed: “Ruby’s a proper TV legend and adds real gravitas to this year’s line-up. She’s interviewed some of the biggest stars in the world so will have no problem getting to know her fellow campmates. It will make great TV for viewers.”
Angry Ginge
Internet personality Morgan Burtwistle, better known as Angry Ginge, boasts over three million followers across platforms including Instagram and TikTok. The content creator is among the potential candidates being considered for the jungle. He could follow in the footsteps of previous influencers such as Nella Rose and GK Barry.
The 23 year old reportedly captured the attention of ITV bosses earlier this year during the annual charity football match Soccer Aid.
A source told The Sun: “ITV bosses always like to have a social media superstar on their cast, especially after GK Barry proved such a success last year. Angry Ginge has bags of personality and was really friendly to everyone at Soccer Aid this year. He made a great impression.”
Tommy Fury
Rumours swirled last year that Tommy Fury would be venturing into the jungle, though he allegedly declined the opportunity due to boxing commitments. The former Love Island star has confessed his eagerness to participate in the show, suggesting that 2025 could be his year.
Speaking to the Mirror, the boxer said: “I’m a Celeb is an amazing show and it’s something I want to do in the future but at the end of the day I am what I am, I’m a fighter and I’ve been doing it since I was a kid.”
Wayne Rooney
Wayne Rooney might be poised to follow in his wife Coleen Rooney’s footsteps by entering the I’m A Celebrity jungle this year. Following Coleen’s second-place finish on the programme, Wayne could be enticed to go one step further by securing the crown.
Speaking about the possibility on an episode of the Wayne Rooney Show released earlier this month, he said: “I think I would … I would … at the right time. I’d struggle with some of the trials, though. Y’know the worst one, y’know where they walk into a room [and] there’s like a big ostrich just looking at you. I didn’t [know I was scared of ostriches] but I’m just picturing them being there.”
Alex Scott
Former Lioness and sports television presenter Alex Scott is reportedly being considered for the forthcoming series. It’s understood that Alex is eager to showcase a different side of her character, away from her established role as a football pundit.
A source revealed: “Alex loves pushing herself out of her comfort zone and where better to do it than the jungle? The public know her as a sportswoman and a serious broadcaster so she thinks she can show people a side to her that they’ve never seen before. Alex is game for anything and is a tough cookie so she’s ready for anything that gets thrown at her – literally.”
Alex has also been suggested as one of the front-runners to take over from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman on Strictly Come Dancing, after the announcement of their departure from the programme.
Shona McGarty
EastEnders veteran Shona McGarty, renowned for playing Whitney Dean, might be preparing for a fresh challenge on I’m A Celeb after departing the BBC soap earlier this year. She expressed a desire to “pursue things that are in [her] heart,” following her departure from EastEnders after a 15-year stint.
In May, the Sun suggested that Shona was genuinely considering a jungle adventure, which might bring her back to our television screens.
Jools Oliver
The wife of celebrity chef Jamie Oliver could find herself in the limelight after Jamie revealed he would decline the programme. Speculation surrounding Jools’ participation was sparked when Jamie featured in a livestream alongside presenters Ant and Dec..
Jamie said: “Thanks for the offer, boys. I would love to come on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!. I think it’s an amazing show.” However, Jamie admitted that no quantity of olive oil from ITV could persuade him to take part.
Nevertheless, he cheekily proposed: “But what I can give you is my wife Jools. She would love to be on the show.”
Conor Benn
Speculation is mounting that boxing star Conor Benn is preparing to enter the 2025 lineup of the beloved ITV show. A source said: “The logistics are a challenge given how close the match is to the start of the jungle, but ITV and Conor are keen to make this happen if they can.”
Conor is scheduled to battle Chris Eubank Jr on Saturday, November 15, in a much-awaited rematch, with his jungle stint anticipated to commence shortly following the fight. An insider revealed: “Conor’s profile has skyrocketed due to the fierce rivalry between him and Chris Eubank Jr. Clearly, Conor’s main priority is the fight. But with his impressive physique, he is also likely to provide the show with this year’s male heartthrob. I’m A Celeb bosses believe he’ll be a fantastic addition to the camp. One possibility is that he enters as a latecomer.”
Denise van Outen
Rumours are swirling that Denise van Outen could be heading into the jungle for the 2025 series of I’m A Celebrity. She’s no stranger to reality TV, having previously appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, The Masked Singer and Dancing on Ice. In a 2021 interview with the Sun, she hinted at a future appearance on I’m A Celebrity, saying she would “do it at some point.”
She suggested that celebrating her 50th birthday on the show would be “nice,” but despite turning 51 this year, she has yet to make her debut in the camp.
Vogue Williams
Vogue Williams might be swapping the catwalk for creepy crawlies, a decade after her husband Spencer Matthews was booted off the show. She’s being tipped as “one of the most glam signings” in recent years. Spencer’s stint in the jungle was cut short after just three days in 2015, when producers discovered he hadn’t disclosed his steroid use.
An insider said: “She is really fun and gets on with everyone, so bosses reckon she will be a hit with viewers. It has been a hard decision to go on the show, because it will mean so much time away from her kids, but she wants to fight her fears and go for it.”
