A number of big names are rumoured to be heading into the jungle

The countdown is on for the return of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, as it prepares to grace our screens once again with another series of jungle antics. The ITV show, hosted by legendary duo Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, will see a fresh group of famous faces gearing up to face the gut-wrenching Bushtucker trials.

A host of celebrities are rumoured to be joining the line-up this year, including Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley and EastEnders’ Shona McGarty. There are also whispers that boxer Tommy Fury will be stepping into the jungle.

These well-known personalities will soon be jetting off to Australia, swapping their lavish lifestyles for a taste of jungle life – but when does it kick off and who will be taking part this year?

When does I’m A Celebrity start?

I’m A Celebrity is set to begin in just a few weeks’ time. The ITV hit is coming back for its 25th series, with some impressive campmates reportedly in talks to join the line-up.

Earlier this week, a special preview trailer was released featuring a spooky Halloween-inspired theme. Set against a festive backdrop with stockings hung over the fireplace and Christmas cards displayed on the hearth, a traditional seasonal verse was recited.

The narrator announced: “Twas the night in October, and all through the house creatures were stirring, and I don’t mean a mouse,” as a spider scuttled across the scene.

The programme’s return is imminent, with the official airdate yet to be confirmed. However, according to The Mirror, it’s likely that the opening episode will air on Sunday, 16 November. This fits in with the show’s usual schedule, which typically wraps up a few weeks before Christmas.

Which celebs are taking part?

A host of celebrities are rumoured to be joining the line-up this year, including Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley and EastEnders’ Shona McGarty. There are also whispers that boxer Tommy Fury will be venturing into the jungle, reports Wales Online.

Boxer Conor Benn is another name being bandied about, along with Denise van Outen, comedian Ruby Wax, and former footballer turned TV presenter Alex Scott.

Ex-England star and football manager, Wayne Rooney, could potentially join the campmates, following his wife Coleen Rooney, who came second last year in her jungle debut.

Vogue Williams is another familiar face speculated to be joining the show, a decade after her husband, former Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews, was removed from camp for not disclosing his steroid use to producers.

What’s new on I’m A Celebrity this year?

ITV bosses have hinted at changes coming to I’m A Celebrity this year, apparently drawing inspiration from Love Island.

For the first time, ITV producers will unveil a ‘first look’ trailer each afternoon prior to broadcast, offering a preview of what’s to come. Much like Love Island’s brief teasers, audiences will receive an advance glimpse of the evening’s events, including a preview of the next Bushtucker Trial.

A source disclosed: “We know how popular the Love Island first look clip is so we wanted to offer something similar for fans of I’m A Celebrity. Camp life can be both dramatic and hilarious and the new I’m A Celebrity first look clip will tease some of those moments ahead of the show airing that night.”

Will Ant and Dec be back?

Ant and Dec will return to present I’m A Celebrity for its 25th series. The presenting partnership, who have fronted the programme together for more than two decades, are such beloved fixtures that the show would seem incomplete without them.

The presenting duo have already completed filming for I’m A Celebrity All Stars, which is set to broadcast in January next year.

Discussing the All Stars programme, Ant commented: “The campmates really brought their A-game to the first series so we can’t wait to be back for more trials, challenges and surprises amongst the beautiful South African landscape.”

Dec added: “Having a live final is an exciting addition to the new series with the viewers choosing their IAC Legend and we’ve heard some of the new trials are truly epic, even by I’m A Celeb… standards!”.

Joel Dommett and Kemi Rodgers are poised to make a comeback as the hosts of I’m A Celebrity… Unpacked. In 2024, they fronted the ITV2 companion show to ITV1’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here, offering jungle enthusiasts insider gossip, exclusive chats with the campmates, and even giving them the chance to pose their questions to the cast.
