A man has shared a photograph of his dog to Reddit, and people have been left scratching their heads as they can’t figure out where the pooch’s body starts and ends
People have been left baffled by a photograph of a dog as they struggle to determine where the pooch’s body starts and ends. A Reddit user shared an optical illusion featuring his canine buddy that appears as though the poor fellow has sadly been “decapitated”.
Explaining the peculiar setup, he described how his pooch was relaxing on the pavement with his head resting against the curb when he snapped the confusing shot. The man explained: “My dog laying down with his head on the curb. It looks like he’s been decapitated.”
The befuddling post has gathered more than 52,000 likes and an overwhelming response of almost 600 comments from users striving to make sense of the quirky image. One bemused Redditor admitted: “Stuff like this breaks my brain.”
Another chimed in saying: “This makes me oddly uncomfortable. Please post proof of life for this little doggo.”, reports the Mirror. A third observed: “Literally rewired my brain and I finally saw it instead of what seemed… disturbing.”
This puzzle piece came about after another pet owner shared a comical moment revealing the flexibility of her new pup. From Wawa, Ontario, US, Ellen Mackenzie glanced over to the backseat of her car only to find Howard, her five-month-old Great Dane, in an extraordinarily odd position.

Ellen shared her dog’s antics on TikTok, amassing 3.7 million views. “He’s all legs at the moment. He’s still trying to figure out how those work,” Ellen shared.
