Autumn is well on the way, and fashion brands are slowly but surely starting to release their new autumn collections. But there’s one brand in particular that has caught our attention on the Mirror fashion desk.

Online retailer Very has just launched its latest own-brand range, The Very Collection, a luxury-looking rebrand filled with timeless staples and trend-led pieces.

Very says this launch “marks a new chapter” for the brand, with a focus on bringing customers what they actually want at prices we can all afford. From trending fabrics to heavy-duty knits and party season-ready pieces, the capsule collection starts from as little as £4 up to £250 for the luxe buys.

Talking about the new collection Chief Customer Officer at Very, Jessica Myers, said:The launch of The Very Collection marks a significant moment for our brand. It’s the result of months of listening to our customers and understanding what makes them feel their best.”

“We know that confidence comes from having a wardrobe that works hard every day – pieces that are as versatile as they are stylish. The Very Big Wardrobe brings this to life, offering a beautiful space for all to explore their fashion formula and discover the forever items that will become part of their own style story.”

Alongside the collection, Very unveiled The Very Big Wardrobe, a high-street pop-up activation where shoppers can view the collection via interactive moments and fashion-first experiences.

The pop-up is on from Friday 5 September, 9am-7pm to Saturday 6 September, 10am-3pm at 109 New Bond Street, W1S 1EG, featuring personal styling sessions, hourly catwalk moments, a 360° mirror room, and glam stations in association with Shark & Benefit.

We were able to get a preview of the new collection at The Very Big Wardrobe last night, and have selected our favourite buys we predict with sell out.

The Very Collection

Check Coat With PU Trims

Checks are always in fashion for autumn, but this year they’re bigger and better than ever. They’re taking over everything from coats and scarves to trousers and knits. And this belted coat from Very may be our favourite piece from the collection.

The smart silhouette makes this such a versatile addition to your winter wardrobe, and I’ll be layering it over double denim for a cool-girl look.

Style with: Denim Heritage Co-ord Jacket, £45 and Denim Wide Leg Heritage Co-Ord Jeans, £35.

Crew Neck Argyle Jacquard Knitted Tank

Available for £28 here

If, like me, you find yourself getting overly flustered in long-sleeve knits in the winter, especially when commuting, a sleeveless knitted tank is going to be your new best friend. Not to mention that layering is a foolproof way to elevate your autumn looks.

So, simply throw this khaki argyle knit over a statement shirt or relaxed T-shirt for an effortless transitional outfit that works from the office to drinks after work.

Contrast Collar Patch Pocket Barn Jacket

Available for £65 here

Barn jackets are trending for another year, and they’re one of autumn’s most versatile outerwear trends. Originating from traditional countryside style, these utility-style jackets have been revamped in more modern ways, combining both style and practicality. Very’s tonal one features a PU contrast collar and a boxy fit that’s perfect for styling with everything from mini skirts to jeans and tailored trousers.

Real Suede Loafer

Available for £45 here

Set to be the biggest shoe trend of A/W, I couldn’t believe the price of these real(!) suede loafers. Investing in real leather or suede shoes is always a smart choice, as they are bound to last much longer in your wardrobe than synthetic materials. Not to mention, real suede will be much softer on your heels if you’re prone to blisters.

And £45 is such a huge bargain for this pair, I’ll be picking them up in both the chocolate brown and tan before they inevitably sell out.

Deep V Neck Argyle Jacquard Jumper With Wool

Available for £32 here

Argyle is making a stylish comeback this season, bringing a touch of retro glam to autumn dressing. The diamond-patterned knit is often associated with preppy styling but has been refreshed for 2025 with slouchy, oversized fits and bold colour contrasts that make it the perfect layering piece.

Sequin Disc Belted Maxi Dress

Available for £100 here

Yes, it may feel a little early to be talking about party season, but with how fast Christmas events sneak up on us, it can’t hurt to be prepared. And if you’ve got a glitzy event you want to be making a statement at this year, this sequin disc maxi dress is the one to do it in.

Fun, sparkly, but still classy, this maxi dress seriously ticks all the right partywear boxes, whether you’ve got a winter wedding, work Christmas party or milestone birthday.

If Very’s new collection has inspired you to give your autumn wardrobe a little refresh, we’re also loving Marks & Spencer’s new season drops, as well as New Look’s Luxe for Less autumn range.
