Acrtor Isla Fisher has taken part in a new soaicl media trend backiing an awareness campaign aimed at saving women’s lives. A movement is sweeping TikTok, challenging users to ‘Get a Granny to Say Fanny’ to destigmatise gynaecological health conversations.
The trend, spearheaded by The Lady Garden Foundation, has garnered celebrity backing, with Isla Fisher and her “Now You See Me” castmates, including Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblat, Justice Smith and Jessie Eisenberg, joining creators in promoting the vital cause.
The #GrannySayFanny challenge aims to tackle the uncomfortable silence surrounding gynaecological health, a silence that contributes to millions of deaths from gynaecological cancers each year. By encouraging the use of words like “fanny,” the campaign directly confronts the societal discomfort that often prevents open discussion about these critical health issues.
Notable social media stars like ‘Grime Gran,’ reality television star Ferne McCann, and Traitors’ contestant Maia Gouveia are also backing the movement, sharing posts to encourage their followers to get involved.
“Gynaecological cancer kills millions because people aren’t willing to talk about it or even say words like fanny,” states Jenny Halpern Prince MBE, C-Founder of The Lady Garden Foundation. “This challenge helps overcome that barrier. By participating in #grannysayfanny, you’re helping to start life-saving conversations and spread vital information about symptoms and early detection. We urge everyone to nominate a friend and get as many people involved as you can.”
The #GrannySayFanny challenge is rapidly gaining momentum, proving that humour and a willingness to confront uncomfortable truths can be powerful tools in promoting essential health awareness. The Lady Garden Foundation encourages everyone to join the movement, share their videos, and help break the silence around gynaecological health.
