A cordon is in place following a police incident in Islington last night (November 4). Emergency services including an air ambulance rushed to the scene at around 3.59pm yesterday (Tuesday 4 November) to Essex Road.

A man was taken to a major trauma centre. The exact detail of the incident are currently unclear.

The pavement outside Essex Road Post Office and a row of adjacent shops is blocked off with blue and white tape. Essex Road itself remains open to traffic, and no buses are on diversion.

The incident comes a day after a woman was stabbed in a park elsewhere in the borough. She remains in critical condition, police have confirmed.
