Nextbase has unveiled its 2025 Black Friday sales – it includes best dashcam I’ve ever used as it doubles-up as a security camera
Dashcams, the gadgets many drivers won’t know they need until something goes wrong. An undisputed accident or a suspicious scratch, these easy-to-hook-up (sometimes) appliances can be vital to have.
I got my first dashcam as a uni student with it logged on my new driver’s car insurance, not realising that years later it’d help prove no fault in a mini prang on a roundabout. One pretty important reason why I’d recommend people to have one.
While the pre Black Friday sales lots are appearing in the sales as retailers, including Amazon, Arogs, and Debenhams, launch sales. Both dashcams I’ve owned have been from Nextbase, but packed with completely different features and geared towards opposite budgets.
For an ultimate budget, and in-hand a flawless user experience, the Nextbase iQ 4K is one to look at. This dash cam with an in-built car cam is as smart as they get, with sensors that activate recording even when cars are off and parked – and it is as much a security camera for your car as it is a dash cam for the road.
Like many of our smartphones, this device also features an SOS response and can be activated by voice. It features UHD quality (ultra-high definition) and includes an infrared cabin camera, making filming possible both during the day and at night.

The Nextbase IQ Dash Cam is a jam-packed, comprehensive model. With outstanding smartfeatures, security options, and high quality filming.
- Security features set it apart from other brands
- Camera quality
- In-app userability
- Subscription to unlock some features
- Size – is less discreet than standard dash cams
Piqo Front Facing 1080p Dash Cam

The Piqo is a smaller option from Nextbase and said to be more discreet when hooked up.
Added extras, which would be hard to find on rival models, include SmartSense parking technology for added security. The camera uses spatial awareness and AI to monitor movement, which helps pick up any movement around the car – this’ll sound an alarm to warn and can even be remotely activated by users.
Onto cost, as its high-end features do come with an eye-watering price, but I do like how there are different options. For the iQ 4K, this will set shoppers back £499, currently at Amazon.
It goes without saying that this has the best camera quality, but it’s not the only one available. Currently on sale is the IQ 1K, which just records in lower quality resolution (on the front camera) than the 4K model – this is now £339.
It’s worlds away from Nextbase’s cheaper model – the 320XR+ Front and Rear Dash Cam Bundle. An option I’d recommend to first-time drivers or students, thanks to its budget-friendly cost, at £99 for both the front and rear camera with a 32GB SD card.
The cheaper price doesn’t mean that it scrimps on features. It lasted me years and has 1080p HD quality to see other cars and road markings clearly when sending footage on. It’s not comparable to the Nextbase IQ quality, but it’s definitely reliable.
A newer option, but cheaper again, is the Piqo 1K 1080p HD Dash Cam sold at Argos for £59. This has a very similar design to the IQ model, but again is slightly watered down when it comes to security and camera features.
There’s still Guardian Mode and Smart Parking, which keep cars protected with an added layer of security when parked. There’s also high-definition quality to ensure details can be captured if drivers ever need footage. A huge selling point against the more expensive IQ 4K is its size (all be it a downside to the pricier model), it’s far more discreet when in place.
What else is in the early Black Friday sales?
Black Friday deals are soaring various dashcam models to the discount sections. Also available is the Garmin 1440p HD X210, which as the name suggests records in 1440p video and costs £179.99. This is sharper than 1080p (the quality found on the Piqo and 320XR Nextbase models above).
As part of its Black Friday offers, Halfords has cut 50% off a range of models. This includes the Garmin Mini 3, which is now £99 instead of £149.99, and the Road Angel Halo Start 2, which is currently £59.99 down from £99.99.
