James Cordon has announced that the last ever episode of Gavin and Stacey will air on Christmas Day. Taking to Instagram, Cordon revealed he and co-star Ruth Jones had finished writing “the last ever” episode of the hit TV show.
The iconic British sitcom ran for three seasons on the BBC, starring James Cordon and Ruth Jones, along with Rob Brydon, Mathew Horne, Joanna Page and Alison Steadman. The show took place in Essex and in Wales, and has become a cult favourite for many – not least Smithy’s notorious takeaway order.
On Instagram, Cordon wrote: “Some news… It’s official!!! We have finished writing the last ever episode of Gavin And Stacey. See you on Christmas Day, BBC One. Love Ruth and James.”

And the BBC said: “We’ll have: A chicken bhuna, lamb bhuna, prawn bhuna, mushroom rice, bag of chips, keema naan, nine poppadoms and the last ever episode of Gavin And Stacey!!! Coming this Christmas Day on BBC One and iPlayer.”
