Police are appealing for information about a group of jewellery thieves who targeted two London stations in the same day. The trio first struck on the Victoria line platform at Oxford Circus, pretending to befriend a man before yanking a gold chain from his neck.

They then robbed a similar necklace from a man outside M&S Simply Food in Euston station around 30 minutes later. Both incidents took place between 12.10am and 12.40am on Saturday, July 12.

Both victims tried to get their jewellery back but were reportedly attacked with a pepper-spray type substance. The British Transport Police (BTP) has now released footage of three men they want to speak to in connection.

One CCTV image shows a man wearing a matching Burberry shirt and shorts with gold sliders. He also has a short blonde quiff.

The second man is wearing a blue t-shirt, black trousers, white trainers and a beige baseball hat. He is carrying a small black bag over his right shoulder.

The final pictured man is wearing a blue t-shirt and shorts, and is carrying a blue bag across his chest. He appears to have and is wearing a brown cap.

Anyone with with information is urged to contact police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 12 of 12 July. Anonymous reports can also be made to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111 or the charity’s website.
