Kate Middleton and her daughter have delighted fans with a snap bearing a striking resemblance to a photo Princess Diana took with Prince William decades ago – but some reckon the future King has a different lookalike
Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte have impressed fans with a photo bearing an incredible resemblance to a snap of Princess Diana and Prince William. However, eagle-eyed royal enthusiasts have spotted the Prince of Wales looks just like a different relative.
Kate, 42, attended the Wimbledon with her daughter, nine, earlier this month. The pair took to the front row of the Royal Box at Centre Court to take in the men’s singles final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic as the mum-of-three made her second public appearance since receiving a cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
But fans of the Royal Family quickly noticed the photo looked just like one taken of Kate’s husband and late mother-in-law 33 years. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), fans couldn’t stop talking about the similarities – but were also distracted by how much William looked like his oldest son, George, in the snap.
“‘Another version of me, I was in it’,” the caption of the post read. “July 1991: Prince William stands with his mother in the Royal Box on Centre Court at Wimbledon. July 2024: Princess Charlotte stands with her mother in the Royal Box on Centre Court at Wimbledon.”
In the photo, a young William smiled and gazed up at his mother as she leaned in to talk to him. In the same way, the Princess of Wales could be seen leaning towards a grinning Charlotte.
Kate was even sporting a purple dress, a similar shade to the one worn by the late People’s Princess in the earlier snap. William and Charlotte were both sporting navy, with the young prince having donned a smart shirt, blazer and tie combination and Charlotte wearing a polka dot dress.
However it wasn’t these uncanny similarities fans noticed the most – instead, it was William’s resemblance to his children. One person wrote: “No doubt charlotte is william twin but in this photo i see george..”
Another added: “George is also William’s twin…” while a third agreed: “Love this.”
