The Wales family are known to make use of an exclusive lounge when they travel from Heathrow Airport – and it’s available to their fellow first-class ticket holders
Prince William and Princess Kate make use of an exclusive “top secret” private suite at Heathrow Airport when they travel with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
In the past, the couple have been spotted outside Heathrow’s luxury Windsor suite, their secret lounge at the airport. And there’s no expense spared when it comes to the VIP treatment, with almost 100 staff on hand to take care of everyone from heads of state and A list celebs. It costs nearly £3,300 to use the suite, which comes complete with a Michelin star-worthy menu, reports OK. And the VIP experience starts right from your doorstep…
Chauffeur service
It’s not known if Kate and William use the car service, but customers can elect to have a top-of-the-range chauffeured BMW pick them up and transport them to a private entrance at the airport to ensure security, privacy and discretion.
Dedicated doormen
A doorman with a top hat and tails is on hand to welcome travellers and send their luggage away to be screened and safely stowed on the plane.
The luxury lounge
William and Kate will feel right at home in the stylish lounge, which features artwork curated by Tanya Baxter Contemporary. There’s also a squishy sofa, luxe arm chairs, a formal dining table, a big telly and your own bathroom, of course!
Personal butler
Travellers really won’t have to lift a finger during their time in the lounge. A team of 96 staff are at their beck and call, including a private butler to take care of everything, including serving food and drink.
Michelin-starred menu
Forget your usual Pret sandwich, Heathrow VIP serves up a seasonal menu designed by British Michelin starred chef Jason Atherton. Customers can enjoy a light snack or go all out with a three-course dinner, washed down with a glass of champagne. Priya Malhotra, head of Heathrow VIP, told Business Insider: “You can order from the menu as much as you want. You can even order the entire menu and drink me out of Dom – please do so, but I might be grumpy!”
Shop and skip queues
Personal shoppers are on hand to help customers buy designer bits and bobs in the terminals. Immigration and customs are sorted in the lounge and best of all, VIPs get their own security lane which “takes about 30 seconds” to get through, according to Malhotra. When it’s time to board, a private BMW drives the lucky travellers to the plane.
Anyone can go VIP
Providing you’re a first or business class ticket holder, you can splash out on the service for £2,750 (around £3,300 with VAT) one way.
