An expert has revealed how Princess Kate managed to get President Trump to switch from ‘alpha male’ as he made a bold change we never usually see
Trump visit: POTUS follows King Charles’ State Banquet speech
All eyes have been on the state visit of President Trump to the UK, accompanied by his wife, the First Lady Melania Trump. At the glitzy state banquet last night, the US President seemed mesmerised by the Princess of Wales, who he called “radiant” during a speech at the high-profile event.
Kate shone in a champagne gold lace evening coat dress that opened loosely at the waist to reveal an understated white silk crepe gown beneath. She, unusually, wore her hair loose for the occasion and donned her preferred tiara, the Lover’s Knot.
The visit marks the second time President Trump has been officially invited to the UK, a historic first, and the Royal Family seemed to have pulled out all the stops to reinforce good relations between the two countries, with the US President known to hold the Windsors in high regard. So much so, that Kate managed to even get Trump to “drop the act” at one point during the dinner, according to one expert.

Body language specialist Bruce Durham from Huddle Culture explained that at one stage during the dinner, as the future Queen chatted with the President, it seems like he might have made something of a “childish comment” and that Kate’s powerful presence forced him to become ‘subservient’.
Bruce explained: “Look how regal she looks, how straight she looks – and [she’s] looking at Donald Trump like a childish, impish-type comment has been made.
“This is important because when is Donald Trump never the alpha? So there is something going on here in that either Kate has an effect on him, or there is a narrative in his head which results in him raising his shoulders, retracting his head, with Kate the alpha, Donald the beta.”
The body language expert added that Trump had adopted a “tortoise-like” physicality during the conversation, almost appearing “subservient” to Kate.
“What we hardly ever see is Donald Trump in a subservient position. If you look at Kate, she looks regal, if you look at her positioning, she is very upright and very much the alpha.
“What we see with Donald Trump here is Trump adopting a tortoise position. Imagine when a tortoise is scared, they retract their neck, and this is very much the same for human beings.
“If you look at Trump, he is almost leaning in with the tortoise effect, there is a raise of the shoulders. We know for sure that it is a subservient position.”
Trump spoke highly of Kate and William during the dinner, saying: “to see Her Royal Highness, Princess Catherine, so radiant and so healthy, and so beautiful. It’s really a great honour, thank you.”
