As Princess Kate continues her cancer treatment she has paused her normal schedule of public engagements, and she has one ‘huge priority’ when it comes to her work
Since beginning cancer treatment, Princess Kate has kept out of the public eye and is focussing on her recovery.
This means she has had to press pause on her normal schedule of public royal duties as she puts all her energy into getting better, and her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
However, despite taking some much needed time to focus on her health away from the bright spotlight she normally occupies, Kate still has one “huge priority” when it comes to her royal work, Kensington Palace has said, and it’s something that she has already been dedicated to for years.
The “huge priority” in question is none other than the continuation of her work in early years development. Kate’s long been passionate that, as research shows, the first few years of a child’s life play a crucial role in how they will go on to develop as an adult. Laying the framework for a lifetime, Kate has channelled her efforts into promoting the wellbeing of all youngsters through her work.
Last year she launched the Royal Foundation’s Early Years Business Taskforce, which asked the private sector to think somewhat “radically” about how they can contribute to this area. The task force recently released a new report which highlights the benefits that come from focussing on early years development – with factors like wellbeing, productivty and improved economics being spotlighted.
“Early childhood is a huge priority for the Princess of Wales and she has been kept fully up to date throughout the process and the development of the taskforce’s work, and she has seen the report,” a palace spokesperson said. However, royal fans shouldn’t expect Kate to return to work fully until her medical team has cleared her to do so, even if she is being kept abreast behind closed doors of the task force’s crucial work.
A senior aide of Kate and William’s told the Mail Online: “The Princess of Wales was the driving force behind the business task force. She has been kept up to date since the inception of the task force and she has read the report and been briefed on it. This is a clear commitment she has made throughout her life of public service that this will be the focus.”
Princess Kate has been “out and about” with her family in recent weeks as she begins preventative treatment for cancer, it has been reported. Officials have stressed that Kate’s outings should not be mistaken as a sign of her wellness, warning that she needs time and space to recover. The Mirror contacted Kensington Palace for comment.
Whilst Kate takes some “space and the privacy to recover” the public have inundated the palace with get well soon cards for the future Queen, with the staff at the Court Post Office receiving “tens of thousands” of messages of support for Kate.
