A royal expert has claimed that the monarch is bringing the daughters of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson into the royal fold, despite their parents’ recent scandals

A royal expert has claimed that King Charles is ‘determined’ to support his nieces Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie through the ‘horrid’ time as they continue to navigate their parents’ recent scandals in connection to Jeffrey Epstein.

Many royal commentators were surprised when Princess Eugenie, the youngest daughter of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, was spotted at her first royal event last week since her father had his royal titles removed and was evicted from the Royal Lodge.

Eugenie attended the King’s Foundation’s 35 under 35 network event, of which she became an official mentor in May 2025. Her appearance was largely seen as a touching show of support from Charles, who has always had a good relationship with his nieces.

According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, Charles’ invitation to Eugenie shows that he has distanced the princesses and their work from the indiscretions of their parents, and will continue to welcome them into the royal fold.

She told The Sun : “What it means to my mind, is that the King is determined to embrace his nieces, both Beatrice and Eugenie and bring them into the royal fold in a way where they don’t feel they’re just being gratuitously pulled in, but they’re actually doing something for it.

“I think that Charles feels quite responsible for these two girls, because it’s been a hideous time for them. Really hideous. They’ve both got young children, and I know they’ve got supportive husbands, but they’ve both got young children, and I think it’s been very, very difficult.

“They’re actually part of the royal family, and they can do their bit, which I think is important to them.”

The royal expert went on to say Eugenie’s appearance at the event was “a very strong signal” from King Charles, which conveyed that “the sins of the father are not reflected on the children”.

“We always have to remember with King Charles that he’s a man of great faith,” Ms Seward continued. “I think it’s great that he’s kind of embraced these two girls and their families and said, ‘don’t worry we are looking after you’.”

Despite Andrew losing his titles of Prince and Duke of York, it was confirmed that both Beatrice and Eugenie would retain their titles of Princess. Andrew was seen for the first time today since he was ousted from the Royal Lodge and sensationally stripped of all his royal titles.

The former prince was seen breaking cover this morning on a horse ride with a companion close to Windsor Castle. It is the first time he has been seen in public since the recent scandal erupted over his links to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
