King Charles III is reportedly feeling the absence of his grandchildren from his life and wants to start trying to build a bond with them after his gesture for Lilibet’s birthday
King Charles III is hoping to spend more time with his grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet an expert has claimed.
Reports have been rife that the King is hoping to build a relationship with son Prince Harry’s children who he has met just a couple of times. The monarch has now expressed his desire to spend some time with the two youngsters amid his cancer battle, sources report.
Charles is reportedly frustrated that currently he only gets to see Archie and Lilibet on occasional video calls and wants more of a relationship with them. Meanwhile, Queen Camilla is reportedly encouraging the efforts to boost their bond after Charles reportedly sent Lilibet a “heartfelt gift and card” for her third birthday last week.

Royal commentator Michael Cole explained to MailOnline that Charles is feeling a “lack of closeness with his California grandchildren acutely.” The former BBC royal correspondent said thats while Charles “looks as happy and as content as I have ever seen him” it appears his “only regret is that he does not see Archie and Lilibet.”
He also stressed that the two “innocent young children” are facing a life where they will grow up without any “real contact” with the Royal Family. Meanwhile, as Charles continues to undergo treatment for cancer he “would welcome the pleasure and comfort of seeing his grandchildren.”
Mr Cole said: “Painfully aware that time is precious, the King regrets that he cannot be closer to his grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. It is not just the 5,000 miles between Clarence House and California that keeps the monarch at a distance from his youngest grandchildren.
“The antipathy between Prince Harry and his wife Meghan and the Royal Family has created a deep divide that makes normal family relationships so fraught as to be almost impossible.” The Royal expert added that “tensions have only been increased by every harsh word written and cruel sentence uttered by the Harry and Meghan about his brother Prince William, sister-in-law Catherine and his stepmother Queen Camilla.”
He also stressed how Archie and Lilibet are just “two innocent young children who are growing up without any real contact with their royal cousins in Britain, not to mention their grandfather, the head of the family, the King,” adding that as Charles “undergoes treatment for an unspecified cancer and would welcome the pleasure and comfort of seeing his grandchildren.”
