Las Vegas is known and loved for its extensive line-up of entertainment options from concerts and gigs to theatrical spectacles, comedy stand up and more. One venue is raising eyebrow over its pricing, though

A popular Las Vegas theatre is offering 4D showings of popular films, complete with props falling from the ceiling, and people can’t get over it – especially the price. The so-called City of Lights is a world famous tourist hotspot thanks to its vast array of show-stopping resorts, intriguing and eclectic architecture, award-winning restaurants, bustling casinos and bars, and much more.

It’s also renowned for its medley of entertainment and events, playing host to major artists from all over the globe who descend on the Nevada desert to play to thousands of eager audiences at a range of specialised venues.

One venue making waves is Sphere, which has rapidly grown in popularity thanks to its high quality immersive video and 4D effects.

Among its many events, Sphere is currently showing a specially adapted 4D adaptation of the 1939 musical fantasy film, The Wizard of Oz.

The immersive re-telling plants audiences firmly inside the film, bringing iconic scenes like the tornado and the apple tree fight vividly to life with special effects including wind and leaves blowing through the crowd, and foam apples falling from above.

It began screening on August 28, 2025, and is scheduled to run until April 2026, though this is subject to change.

Ticket prices do vary depending on the date and time booked. If you were to go to a screening on Wednesday, October 1 at 5pm, tickets start at $191 (ÂŁ141.76) for two seated together, and go up to $890 (ÂŁ660.60) for two people seated next to each other.

Footage from inside a screening was shared on Instagram, with the clip capturing a range of highlights from throughout the film. The caption reads: “Wizard of Oz Debuts at The Sphere Las Vegas Sphere with technology never before seen to create a true [4D] experience.

“You could smell, taste and feel the experiences they created. It was literal magic”.

People were keen to share their thoughts, with many keen to see it for themselves while others couldn’t get over the price.

One person said: “I would love to watch the Wizard of Oz there”.

Another said: “I really want to experience this”.

But a third commented: “I was down til I saw that 150!”

A fourth said: “I read a ticket was $200.00!”

Someone else said: “I said the same thing I could see $50 a ticket but not no $150”.

Another wasn’t put off by the cost, though. They said: “Oh I don’t care if it’s $150, it’s worth the experience totally! I asked my husband for tickets to this, I don’t care if it’s for Christmas/Anniversary/Birthday all in one haha! I’M GOING!!!!”

Another agreed: “Worth it”.

One Instagram user simply said: “Cant wait to go hereeee”.

And another added their own personal experience of it: “It was soo amazing, I was smiling and laughing so much! Such an amazing experience. Yes, the seats go up high, it’s steep and narrow but once the lights go down and the movie starts that feeling goes away!”

They continued: “They have loads of souvenirs and items for purchase. I sat in the 400 section and we caught apples! It really is worth it! Use Affirm or other options like it to pay over time for tickets cause it is a lot of money but the experience in my opinion was worth it!”
