Lidl’s have issued an urgent recall on a food item, after concerns a harmful object may have fallen into the packets.

The retail giant warned Simply Roasted and Salted Cashews is not safe to eat.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) echoed the recall saying there are concerns about glass in the product.

The FSA said: “If you have bought the above product do not consume it.

“Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

“For further information, please contact Lidl Customer Care on [email protected] or 0203 966 5566.”

The recall affects the 125g packets of Simply Roasted and Salted Cashews, with ‘best before’ date of June 28, 2026.

Customers who bought this product are urged to return it to their nearest store, where they will receive a full refund.

Lidl added: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your cooperation”.

This comes days after Lidl announced it was recalling its XXL Sondey Stroopwaffel with Caramel Flavour Filling & Butter following the discovery that the item may contain small metal fragments.

The metal contamination renders the product unsafe to eat and creates a potential health hazard for shoppers. Purchasers of this product are urged not to consume it and should return it to their local Lidl branch for a complete refund.

  • Pack size: 560g
  • Batch affected: All stock with a best-before date of November 21, December 2, and December 3
