A standoff is currently underway in Catford. Police are on the scene on Daneby Road following concerns raised for the welfare of a man in a home. It is understood officers have been ‘attempting to engage’ with the man throughout the night and it is not thought anybody else is in the property.
Road closures and cordons are in place so only head through if absolutely necessary, and leave with plenty of time.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Officers and emergency services are on scene Daneby Road after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man inside a property at the location. No one else is believed to be inside.
“Officers are attempting to engage with the man and bring the matter to a safe conclusion. Cordons and road closures remain in place while the situation is ongoing. We thank local residents for their patience and advise people to avoid the area.”
The London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade have been contacted for comment.
