Live: Charlton stabbing leaves man in his 40s fighting for his life in critical condition

A man in his 40s is fighting for his life after a knife attack in South East London. The victim was found in Kashmir Road, Charlton, at around 9am on Saturday (May 25), after police were called to reports of a stabbing.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) also attended and he was taken to hospital, where his condition is critical but stable. Police are still trying to work out what happened, but the knifeman remains at large with no-one yet arrested.

A Met spokesperson said: “Police were called shortly before 9am on Saturday, May 25, to a man stabbed in Kashmir Road, SE7. Officers attended along with LAS. A man, aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital. His condition has been assessed as critical but stable.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances. There has been no arrest. Local people will see additional officers in the area. Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101, ref 2087/25MAY24. To remain anonymous please call Crimestoppers.”
