Live Ilford traffic updates as crash closes road for 9 hours after person rushed to hospital

An early morning crash in Ilford has seen one person rushed to hospital. The collision took place at 1:12 am on Friday (April 19) on Cranbrook Rise.

One person was treated by London Ambulance Service (LAS) at the scene and rushed to hospital. A LAS spokesperson said: “We were called at 1:12 this morning (April 19) to reports of a road traffic collision on Cranbrook Rise, in Ilford.

“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, and an incident response officer. We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance by car.

“Our first paramedics were on the scene in under five minutes. We treated a patient at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre.”

Cranbrook Road, connected to Cranbrook Rise, has been shut since the incident. It is closed in both directions and there are delays between Bethell Avenue and Beehive Lane.

A total of 11 London bus routes are diverted due to the closure. These routes are: 23, 128, 150, 167, 179, 296, 396, 462, 677, 679 and SL2.
