Live Lambeth stabbing updates as two men in their 40s knifed in Wandsworth Road street attack

Paramedics have rushed three people to hospital following a street attack in South London. The emergency services rushed to where Portslade Road meets Wandsworth Road, on the Lambeth and Wandsworth border, just after 9pm on Monday (March 25) to reports of a stabbing.

There they found three people injured. Two of them had been stabbed and one was violently kicked in the back. One of the two stabbing victims is in a significantly worse condition than the other two patients.

A Met Police spokesperson told MyLondon: “Police were called to Wandsworth Road, SW4 at about 9.07pm on Monday, March 25 following reports of a stabbing. Officers attended alongside colleagues from the London Ambulance Service and the air ambulance.

“On arrival they found two men, aged in their 40s, suffering with stab injuries. Both men were taken to hospital. Their injuries have been assessed as not life-threatening. At this this early time, no arrests have been made.

“A crime scene remains at the location and enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD7497/25MAR. You can also provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

A London Ambulance Service (LAS) spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.09pm yesterday evening (March 25) to reports of a stabbing at the junction of Portslade Road and Wandsworth Road.

“We sent resources to scene, including ambulance crews and an incident response officer. We also sent trauma teams from London’s Air Ambulance by car. We treated patients at the scene, and took three patients to a major trauma centre, with one being taken a priority.”

The Met Police have been contacted for comment.
