Live: Leytonstone murder investigation launched after man stabbed to death

A man has been stabbed to death in Leytonstone. The incident happened at 11:15 last night (Thursday, April 18) on South Birkbeck Road, in the area of Waltham Forest.

Met Police officers were called to reports of a fight and found a man, who is believed to be in his 30s, at the scene suffering stab injuries. Emergency first aid was provided alongside paramedics from London Ambulance Service but despite their efforts the man died at the scene.

His next of kin are yet to be informed. One man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He has been taken to an East London police station where he remains in custody. A crime scene remains in place as the police investigate the incident.
