Live: Person hit by train between Bedford and London St Pancras causing long delays during rush hour

A person has been hit by a train between London St Pancras and Bedford this morning, Tuesday June 18. As a result, some railway lines have been closed into and out of London today.

East Midlands Railway and Thameslink trains have been affected by this incident. Thameslink has said some services will continue to run, but are likely to be delayed or altered.

For East Midlands Railway services, there will be reduced trains and alterations to services between Bedford and Luton.

National Rail has said: “A person has been hit by a train between Bedford and London St Pancras International. As some lines are closed, trains may be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 30 minutes. Disruption is expected until 10:30.”

The emergency services, including the British Transport Police, have been contacted for further information.
