The bus became lodged into a central London dental studio

A London bus smashed into a row of shops in central London, leaving one person needing hospital treatment. The number three bus to Crystal Palace became lodged into the SW1 Dental Studio in Great Peter Street at around 1.40pm yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, October 7).

Photos show a cordon in place and firefighters working at the scene. One person was rushed to hospital, while three others declined treatment.

Rosie Trew, head of bus service delivery for Transport For London, told Metro: “We’re working with bus operator Transport UK to investigate the cause of a collision earlier today on Great Peter Street.

“Our thoughts are with the one person who is believed to have been injured and with anyone else impacted by this distressing incident. We have support available for anyone affected.”

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called today (Tues 7) at 1.39pm to reports of a road traffic collision in Great Peter Street, Westminster, SW1.

“We sent resources including ambulance crews, an incident response officer, a paramedic on a motorcycle and members of our hazardous area response team (HART). We assessed four patients at the scene. Three people declined treatment and one was taken to hospital.”
