Winter is well and truly on its way out, and about time too.

While 2024 has been very hit and miss weather-wise, Londoners can expect the warmest weather of the year so far this weekend.

In fact, today (Saturday, April 13) could see the mercury rise as high as 21C, not a bad show at all for the month associated with showers.

The highest temperatures, according to BBC Weather, should arrive at around 3pm or 4pm this afternoon. There’s likely to be a fair bit of cloud cover, but we’ll take what we can get in the UK.

Sunday (April 14) takes a bit of a dip, but it’s by no means a return to what January, February and March had in store for us. Instead, it should reach highs of around 15C.

Monday (April 15), in perfect symbolism, will bring the rain back, sadly. Tuesday (April 16) and Wednesday (April 17) are likely to be wet too, but by the weekend the sunshine is back, albeit not with the high temperatures of this weekend.

And, fittingly, the following Monday (April 22) will bring back the rain, which will continue throughout the working week (to Friday, April 26). British weather, eh?
