London weather to see temperatures soar to 26C this week after rain dump

London weather has left a lot to be desired after a deluge of rain fell in the capital yesterday (Tuesday, May 27). Sun-worshippers will be glad to know that temperatures are set to soar to 26C later this week.

Rain fell throughout the day yesterday with temperatures dropping to 13C. The change in weather comes after what has been an unusually warm and dry spring.

Saturday (May 31) will see the best weather as temperatures are set to soar to a staggering 26C with sunshine. The Met Office weekend forecast says: “Saturday will be slightly warmer with long sunny spells and areas of variable cloud drifting by bringing the odd shower in the afternoon.

“Mostly sunny on Sunday though patchy clouds may bring the odd isolated shower in the afternoon. Windy and cooler.”

Today (Wednesday, May 28) will see temperatures rise to 21C, although there will still be some showers throughout the day. Tomorrow (Thursday, May 29) will see light clouds and a moderate breeze, with temperatures of 23C.

The weekend weather is when things will really begin to improve. Friday (May 30) will see temperatures rise to 25C with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.

Saturday (May 31) will see this continue with temperatures of 26C and sunny intervals. There will be a slight dip on Sunday (June 1) to 22C but there will still be sunny intervals with a moderate breeze.

The weather will be similar on the following Monday (June 2), before showers and rain set in for the rest of the week.
