As a beauty writer, I love discovering new products that are worth shouting about. And one particular brand helps me do exactly that each month with its monthly subscription box.

LookFantastic sends out its beauty boxes at the start of each month and its June edit is filled with a variety of products to help give enjoy some pampering as well as keep their beauty arsenal topped up. And one product in particular from this month has me swooning at the product, application and results.

Costing £15 for a one off payment or £13 a month when signing up for a 12-month commitment, the box contains six different products that cover hair, skincare, make-up and bath time. LookFantastic’s beauty haul rivals the likes of Glossybox’s own subscription model which is one less item in and costs £13.50 for a off payment and £12.50 for a 12 month subscription.

Meanwhile, OK!’s beauty box subscription is £8.99 and this month contains names like NUXE, Revolution Beauty and Mudmasky.

With four full-size products and two deluxe sizes, the box itself has a total value of over £60, meaning beauty buffs can save £45 on names like Lanolips, BeautyPro, Olaplex, Aromatherapy Associates and more.

The June Beauty Box from Lookfantastic costs £13 or £15, depending on which subscription you opt for, and contains: Sweed Lash Lift Mascara, Aromatherapy Associates Revive Morning Bath & Shower Oil, Lanolips Lip Scrub in Coconutter or Strawberry, Olaplex No. 9 Bond Protector Heat Protection and Frizz Reduction Nourishing Hair Serum, LOOKFANTASTIC No Crease Clips and the Beauty Pro Warming Eye Mask.

And three products have fast become my faves, with one standing out to me as a product I’ll order again – despite having never previously heard of the brand.

Sweed is a beauty brand whose products are vegan and designed with professional performance in mind. With award-winning products that promote a gorgeous ‘no-makeup makeup look’, its Pro Lash Life Mascara, which is included in this month’s LookFantastic Beauty Box and usually costs £22, has left me seriously impressed.

Plus, the brand works in collaboration with the organization Billion Baby Turtles and for every mascara sold, they rescue one sea turtle, which brings me joy.

Now onto the mascara. As someone with relatively sensitive eyes and lashes that don’t exactly have an impressive flutter naturally, I’m always sceptical when testing out new mascaras to see if they’ll cause irritation or leave my eyelashes to flop.

Thankfully, this mascara – which comes in an appealing aqua blue tube – gave a lovely lift to my lashes with only one coat and with its uniquely shaped skinny, one-sided brush, allowed me to coat each lash easily without any clumping. The brand explains its “groundbreaking skinny brush starts coating each individual lash from root to tip creating maximum definition and a volume beyond belief”.

The black shade also gave a lovely depth to my lashes too and gave me a bit of a confidence boost. I also love that the formula is infused with vitamin B5 to nourish lashes which is an added bonus. Plus, when it comes to taking it off, it melts of relatively easily. I went in first with warm water before setting my trusty Nivea eye make up remover on it to get the last dregs.

All in all, Sweed’s mascara gets a 10/10 from me.

Also included in the box that proved useful, especially in the summer, is the Lanolips Lip Scrub. As someone who suffers from dry and flaky lips, this formula which is made with real ground coconut shell gave my lips a lovely softness and they smelt amazing with its coconut scent.

The 70% lanolin is really effective in deeply hydrating and, throughout winter and summer Lanolips is one of the only lip products I use to help keep chapped lips at bay. While this scrub does a great job at doing the same sort of thing whilst buffing away any dead skin, the only slight nuisance is that its instructions suggest: “Apply with your fingers and gently rub against lips for about 15 seconds. Dab away remaining scrub particles, leave behind the balm.” Now, unfortunately, being a relatively sticky product, it’s not actually that easy to dab the particles away without taking off some of the balm, meaning when trying to do so I take most of it off. So its a technique I’m yet to perfect but practice makes perfect.

Another really useful product in the box this month is the LookFantastic No Crease Clips (Full Size) Worth Over £9. While they may be simple, these clips are so handy for clipping fringes or loose bits of hair back, washing my face or even just wearing them to go out. I can confirm they do not leave dents in the hair, unlike some clips of this style, which makes them goldust.

The three remaining products I’m saving for a day when I need of a bit of TLC are the Olaplex No. 9 Bond Protector Heat Protection and Frizz Reduction Nourishing Hair Serum, Aromatherapy Associates Revive Morning Bath & Shower Oil and Beauty Pro Warming Eye Mask, all of which require time and space to indulge.

The one I’m most excited to try is the warming eye mask, as someone who suffers from dry and tired eyes quite a lot. Having tested the Aromatherapy Associates oil out slightly too, I can confirm that it smells divine and just like I’ve walked into a spa oozing with essential oils. What’s more, it left my skin super soft.
