The M25 is closed in Essex on the anti-clockwise carriageway between J28 (for the A12, near Brentwood) and J27 (for the M11) due to a serious crash involving a van which overturned. M25 drivers are being warned there are ‘severe delays’ on the motorway with hour long queues tailing back towards the Dartford Crossing and five miles of traffic in the opposition direction due to onlookers.
Emergency services, including Essex Police, are on the scene following the crash which happened at about 9am today (Wednesday, July 16). National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management. It is not known if any injuries have been sustained in the crash.
A National Highways spokesperson said: “If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.”
