Drivers are being warned of several miles of congestion after a multi-vehicle crash and fire on the M25 earlier this morning (October 29). National Highways says traffic has been stopped on the anti-clockwise carriageway between junction 29, at Romford, and junction 28, at Brentwood.
It’s thought the collision happened at around 6.20am. Emergency services were called to the scene, but it is currently unknown if anyone has been injured.
Each of the four lanes has reopened but road conditions are yet to return to normal. There are currently delays of 80 minutes along the motorway, with queues tailing back for around eight miles.
Motorists are being advised to allow extra travel time or seek alternative routes.
