A reality television star has announced a vigil for a British couple who lost their lives in yesterday’s Air India Crash. Jamie and Fiongal Greenlaw-Meek, aged 45 and 39 respectively, were among the 241 people killed in the Boeing 787 plane crash in Ahmedabad.
Fiongal and Jamie spoke of their “magical experience” in a gut-wrenching video posted shortly before their flight. The doomed aircraft crashed in a suburb of Ahmedabad, India about a minute after take-off yesterday morning, killing 241 of the 242 passengers including 53 Britons.
In an emotional post on Instagram, Made In Chelsea star Alex Mytton revealed he and his partner Hannah Wood were close friends of the couple. A vigil is planned at Hyde Park at 4pm tomorrow (Saturday) to allow friends to grieve. Alex wrote: “A bit lost for words and feeling a tad emotionally exhausted so I just want to write a short message so as to get the message out.
“Our lovely friends Fiongal and Jamie were very sadly killed yesterday in the plane crash in India. There’s a lot more I want to say about them as they were very close to Hannah Wood & I’s heart but right now I just wanted to say that if anybody want’s to meet up tomorrow if they’re feeling heavy, sad or just wanna hang out with some other humans I’m gonna be organising a little meet up & hug in the park or along the lines (sorry not making loads of sense atm). It feels like there’s a lot of sadness and pain at the moment and just wanted to do something as a vigil to our friends but also for everything else going on at the moment.
“So please if you’re feeling down or even just up for hanging out or just saying hey it’ll be a bunch of us just chatting and chilling in the park. MEET: 4pm @ the Diana Memorial in Hyde Park. Drop me message if you need anything or wanna chat.”

Earlier this morning, India’s Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu posted on X that the black box of the crashed Air India plane has been found.
He wrote: “The flight data recorder (black box) has been recovered within 28 hours from the accident site in Ahmedabad by AAIB (India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau). This marks an important step forward in the investigation. This will significantly aid the inquiry into the incident.”
