An interior design fanatic who totally transformed a plain-walled bedroom has gone viral on Twitter/X having turned it into a ‘cosier sanctuary’, with fans hailing it a much better alternative to the ‘neutral white’ colours

A major bedroom redesign has been praised by members of the public as it turns the “neutral white” zone into a “cosier sanctuary”.

Twitter/X users seem to agree the the “personality” of darker greens gave a “cosier” feel after the designer binned basic colour schemes. The post has since racked up 145K likes and tens of thousands of retweets.

It read: “unpopular opinion: dark, earthy, moodier homes have so much more personality and aesthetic than the neutral white basic ones.” One particular quote-tweet showed off the before and after of changing the colour scheme of a bedroom, which breathed new life in the room.

Another added: “Completely agree. Our bedroom is now so much cosier. More of a sanctuary.” Other users have since praised the redesign for its massive change of style and how it pulls the room together.

Another suggested it was the furniture and the room itself which were benefitting from the redesign. One user wrote: “More than the wall color, I think what really helped the room was the warmer lighting and upgrade of all the design details (rug, bedding, nightstands, dresser etc).”

Others are saying the before and after results are inspiring them to make changes of their own. One revealed: “you’ve just inspired me to do a dark accent wall.” Another was after the same rug as displayed in the photo, adding: “Mind me asking where the rug is from?”

The stark contrast in before and after was not lost on other users who say the difference is like seeing an Airbnb next to a home. They wrote: “Lighter looks like an Airbnb listing. Darker looks like a nicer hotel room.”
