A 22-year-old man was shot in Hackney last night (Friday, May 9). He was attacked at around 9.20pm on Homerton Road, a part-residential street which runs through Hackney Marshes before joining Homerton High Street.
Paramedics treated him for multiple gunshot wounds before taking him to hospital. His injuries are not life-changing or life-threatening, the Metropolitan Police has confirmed.
The force is now investigating the shooting. No one has been arrested as of yet.
Anybody who witnessed the incident or has relevant information is urged to call 101, quoting crime reference 7850. Anonymous reports can also be made to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111 or the charity’s website.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended Homerton Road around 21:20hrs on Friday, 9 May, alongside the London Ambulance Service. A 22-year-old man treated at the scene for gunshot injuries.
“He was taken to hospital, where his injuries were assessed as non-life-changing and non-life-threatening. No arrests have been made, and police are making urgent enquiries.”
