The man charged with the murder of man, 25, outside Wembley Stadium has been named. Dontae Smicle, 29, of Monks Park, Wembley, was charged on Tuesday (July 15) with the murder of 25-year-old Hamzah Iqbal. The victim died after the stabbing outside Wembley Stadium in North West London.
Smicle was arrested abroad and extradited back to the UK this week, where he was remanded into custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 16 July).
A Met Police spokesperson said: “An investigation was launched after police were called shortly after 23:00hrs on Sunday, 24 September 2023 to reports of a stabbing in Olympic Way, Wembley.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found Hamza Iqbal with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital but died a short time later. A post-mortem examination took place on Wednesday, 27 September 2023 and gave a preliminary cause of death as sharp force trauma to the chest.”
