The victim’s family’s are being supported by specialist officers
A murder investigation has been launched after a man in his 60s was attacked on a South London street. Police were first called to Balham High Road at around 3:40pm on Sunday, August 24.
The victim, later named by police as James Gbadamosi, was taken to hospital and almost two weeks later, died on Friday, September 5. His family are now being supported by specialist officers.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder, while a 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.
Anyone with CCTV, mobile phone, dash cam footage or Ring doorbell footage of the incident is asked to preserve and supply it to the Police as part of the investigation.
DCI Matthew Denby said: “This is an incredibly sad incident where a 67-year-old man has lost his life after being seriously assaulted following a dispute in the street. We are working at pace on what is now a murder investigation.
“Were you in the area or on Balham High Road on Sunday, 24 August? If so, we really need your help.
“If you have any mobile phone or dash cam footage from the area around the time of the incident, please send it to police. It could be critical evidence.
“Anyone who has yet to speak to us is urged to come forward immediately.
“My team are working to provide James’ family with answers and the public could have valuable information that will help our investigation.”
