Man ‘attacked by group’ in Sutton fast-food shop with police hunting for the thugs

An investigation is underway after a man was ‘beaten by a group’ inside a Sutton fast-food chain earlier this week. Police say the victim was assaulted by multiple men on Wrythe Lane, Carshalton, shortly before 9.45pm.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital for further treatment. His injuries are neither life-threatening or life-changing, according to a statement issued by the Metropolitan Police.

Whilst enquiries continue, no one has so far been arrested in connection, the force added. It is currently unknown which fast-food shop the incident took place at.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 21:44hrs on Tuesday, August 19 following reports of an assault in Sutton. Officers called the assistance of London Ambulance Service inside a fast-food chain on Wrythe Lane, Carshalton where a man had been injured after allegedly being assaulted by a group of men.

“His injuries have been confirmed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing. No arrests have as yet been made. Enquiries continue.”

London Ambulance Service added: “We were called at 9.49pm yesterday (19 August) to reports of an injured person in Wrythe Lane, Carshalton. We sent an ambulance crew to the scene. We treated one patient and took him to hospital.”
