Man fighting for life after stabbing and ‘gunshots’ reported on same night in North London

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed on the same night that police were called to reports of gunshots. On Thursday, June 12 police were called to two addresses near to one another between 10.30pm and 11pm to reports of gunshots.

Later in the evening at around 11.30pm, police were called to a hospital in Enfield after a 32-year-old man who had been stabbed took himself there. Medical staff decided his injuries were life-threatening and he remains in a critical condition.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “On Thursday, 12 June at 22:35hrs officers responded to reports of gunshots in Palmers Green, N13.

“Shortly after at 22:57hrs officers were called to more gunshots observed at another address in Palmers Green.

“Later at 23:33hrs police attended a hospital in Enfield after a 32-year-old man presented with stab wounds. His injuries have been assessed as life-threatening and he remains in a critical condition.

“Several crime scenes have been established and officers, including detectives from Specialist Crime, are working at pace to progress this investigation.

“Enquiries are ongoing.
