Man in 60s dies near Orpington High Street despite air ambulance paramedics rushing to help

A man in his 60s has died after being found unconscious in Orpington this morning (June 8). He was discovered by police on Knoll Rise, just off the town’s High Street, at around 9.30am.

He was treated by paramedics but pronounced dead at the scene in the area of Bromley. His death is being treated as unexpected, according to a statement issued by the Metropolitan Police this afternoon.

A file will now be prepared for the coroner, with his next-of-kin already informed of his death. Onlookers reported London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene, allegedly landing in the carpark behind the nearby McDonald’s.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “At 9:30am on Sunday, June 8, police were called to Knoll Rise, Orpington. On arrival, they found a man in his 60s unconscious and despite efforts from officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, he was pronounced dead.

“His death is being treated as unexpected, and file will be prepared for the coroner. His next-of-kin have been informed.”
