Man in 60s knifed on London bus outside Camberwell pub

A man was stabbed on a London bus in Camberwell on Wednesday evening (May 29). According to the Metropolitan Police, the man, in his 60s, was attacked while on the 436 bus to Lewisham.

He was rushed to hospital where his injuries were not considered to be life-threatening. Photos from the scene showed a crime scene in place around the red double-decker bus on Camberwell New Road.

A fast-response ambulance vehicle can be seen at the scene, along with police cars enforcing a cordon.

The Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called shortly before 21:00hrs on Wednesday, 29 May to reports of a stabbing on a Route 436 bus on Camberwell New Road, SE5.

“Officers attended. A man, believed to be aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. His condition has been assessed as non life-threatening.

“At this early stage there have been no arrests and enquiries continue. Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference CAD 7888/29May.”
