Police have shared an image of a man they need to identify following the incident

A man has been injured in an unprovoked attack at a Tube station in North West London, police say. The victim was punched as he exited the Jubilee line at Stanmore just after midnight on Thursday, September 4.

The shocking incident left him with cuts to his face. The British Transport Police (BTP) is now hoping the public can identify a person of interest seen on CCTV.

Officers believe the man pictured may have information that is helpful to their investigation. The footage shows a man of medium build, with short black hair and a black beard.

He is wearing a beige t-shirt and what appears to be a green North Face jacket. Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP as soon as possible.

Last month, a woman was pushed to the ground by an alleged fare evader at Dalston Junction station after stopping him from following her through the barriers. 3,542 violent offences on the London Underground were reported between December 1, 2022 and November 30, 2023, according to the most recent data from BTP.

Anyone with information is urged to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 6 of 4 September. Anonymous reports can also be made to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111 or the charity’s website.
