Man rushed to hospital after ‘car falls from Luton Airport multi-storey carpark’

A man has been rushed to hospital after a vehicle fell from Luton Airport’s multi-storey carpark on Sunday (June 15). Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to get in contact with them.

Emergency services were called to the scene just before 11am yesterday. A car is understood to have fallen from an upper level of the multi-storey car park at Luton Airport, reports the BBC.

One person was rushed to hospital with injuries. They are no long believed to be in a serious condition.

A Bedfordshire Police spokesperson said: “Emergency services were called shortly before 11am yesterday (Sunday) to an incident involving a single vehicle at a multi-storey car park at London Luton Airport.

“Police, ambulance and fire crews attended the scene. One person was taken to hospital with injuries which are no longer believed to be serious.”

There was no disruption to flights and the car park remains open. Luton Airport said an investigation into the accident is underway.

A London Luton Airport spokesperson said: “London Luton Airport remains open and fully operational, following an accident involving a single vehicle on Level 2 of Terminal Car Park One yesterday.

“Emergency services were called shortly before 11am and one person was taken to hospital but later discharged with minor injuries.

“There was no disruption to flights, and the car park remains open, with staff on hand to assist passengers. An investigation into the cause of the accident is now underway.”
