A man has revealed the many ‘treasures’ he discovered on the floor during the month he spent as part of a team of litter pickers cleaning up after revellers left the Glastonbury Festival site
Two months after Glastonbury Festival, a man has revealed the “treasures” he discovered during a month-long litter picking stint on the Worthy Farm site. This year’s event saw 210,000 music fans flock to the iconic Somerset farm to enjoy performances from a range of acts including headliners The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo.
According to TikTok user Vee, festival-goers left behind a plethora of unusual belongings, which he showed off in a video on the social media platform. “I spent a month litter picking Glastonbury Festival, these are all the best things I found on the floor,” Vee wrote in a caption accompanying his clip. In the video, Vee explained that he was part of a 75-strong team tasked with cleaning up the fields owned by the Eavis family.
“They [festival-goers] dropped loads of expensive things – these are all the best things I have found on the floor,” he added.
Emptying his rucksack onto a table, Vee began to show off his finds.
Starting with a rubber hand, he quipped: “There’s also a spoon collection for tiny cereal bowls.”
Vee then went through the items of jewellery he had found, which included 12 earrings, 10 necklaces, two bracelets, and five rings, one of which featured a large Hello Kitty design.
He also found a blue-haired Trolls figure, another missing its hair, two small dinosaur figures and four house keys.
The toy collection continued to grow with a rubber squid, several tiny rubber ducks, a skeleton arm and a golden doubloon.
Vee’s treasure trove didn’t stop there as he revealed: “There was 40 quid in cash – I’ve spent it – a stick that looks like a chocolate flake, Croc charms, a light switch, a plectrum, a wooden dice, two shells and finally a golden top – I don’t know what to do with it.”
He ended his post by humorously wearing the revealing ladies’ garment and asking his followers: “Was it worth a month of litter picking?”
In the comments section, Vee later added a follow-up note: “One of the spoons has found its owner and I have shipped it back! If anyone else sees something they lost please leave a comment and I’ll message you asking for proof then I will ship it safely back to you.”
Elsewhere, another individual criticised: “Honestly at this point we should just go extinct. What we leave behind as trash is disgusting.”
A second person concurred, stating: “Used to live 30 mins from Glastonbury. I think the festival is stupid as nobody cares about the environment anymore.”
A third also hit out: “I just can’t get my head around this ‘throw away’ attitude. The idea was always ‘leave no trace’. I went to a festival, I packed up my stuff. I left with it all. Rubbish in the bins. Is this a radical concept?”
Whilst a fourth TikTok user praised Vee’s work: “It would be worth it ANYTIME to be enjoying Worthy Farm (with a place with that name, do you even need to ask? ) Thanks for clearing the site for the beautiful cows.”
