Police have released CCTV footage of two men they wish to speak to
Police are searching for two men they would like to speak to following a serious assault involving a gun in North London. On Monday, July 14 at around 11.35am, a 33-year-old man was with a friend in the B&Q carpark in Holloway Road.
The pair were leaving the Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park. While he was sat in his car, the victim was approached by two men who then allegedly threatened and assaulted the victim.
It is alleged that the perpetrators hit him in the head with a firearm and then demanded his jewellery, before stealing £200 in cash and a pair of sunglasses. The London Ambulance Service treated the victim at the scene with serious head injuries and he was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as neither life-changing nor life-threatening.
One of the men police are searching for can be seen on CCTV footage on a distinctive yellow electric bike. He was described as Black and approximately 6ft tall with a slim build. He is thought to be aged in his 30s and was wearing a grey and black tracksuit, black trainers and a black baseball cap.
Police believe the second man they are searching for carried out the assault. He is described as Black and approximately 6ft tall with a average build. He is also thought to be in his 30s. He was dressed in all black with a hood up and a face covering.
The investigation team are looking to hear from the two men and anyone who believes they saw – or know – what happened. Those with information should contact 101, quoting the investigation reference 01/7735123/25.
Detective Inspector Julian Bates, who is leading the investigation for the Met, said: “On Monday, 14 July, a man was viciously attacked in Holloway. It is extremely important that we speak to those in the images, so we are able to determine exactly what happened – and to track down a possible firearm.
“What should have been a carefree and enjoyable day was instead ruined by a vicious robbery involving a firearm.
“We believe that many people may have been in the area at the time of the attack either attending Wireless or passing through the area and may have witnessed the assault. We urge anyone with any information at all to get in touch.”
