M&S has just launched a brand new range of perfumes that are perfect for summer and have fresh scents including cucumber, pink pepper and mandarin to rival Jo Malone
When it comes to perfumes, few are quite as iconic – or coveted – as Jo Malone’s fragrances. However for fragrance lovers on a budget, splurging £82 on a 50ml bottle of perfume isn’t always doable, which is why Marks and Spencer’s latest fragrance launch might be your saving grace for fresh-smelling scents this summer.
The brand new Provenance range is an own-brand fragrance collection from M&S Beauty and includes seven different scents with a variety of fresh, invigorating and evocative aromas that’ll give you the perfect summer vibe. With each fragrance coming in at £16 – and including both a full size 48ml bottle and a 9ml travel bottle – they’re perfect for getting a new perfume without breaking the bank.

Each fragrance has a distinct summer-ready scent and comes in a coloured glass bottle, with the sets also containing a matching travel bottle that’s perfect for throwing in your hand luggage or handbag to use on the go.
If you’re usually a fan of Jo Malone’s Lime Basil and Mandarin Cologne, which has fresh zesty notes, then M&S’ No.1 Citrus Soleil Eau de Parfum Set is a great alternative with shoppers saying: “I really love this smell and it’s a great replacement for the one they discontinued. A summer fresh smell.” It has hints of Sicilian lemon oil and sweet orange blossom with contrasting notes of jasmine, neroli and musk which gives it some additional warmth and depth.
If floral scents are more your thing and you’re looking for an alternative to Jo Malone’s gorgeous Red Roses fragrance, M&S’ No.5 Aegean Rose Eau de Parfum Set combines Damask rose oil from Turkey with plum blossom and peony for a flowery aroma. Notes of mandarin, pink pepper, sandalwood and musk help anchor it.
Other scents in the M&S Provenance range include Neroli Blush, Sandalwood Haze, and Wild Bergamot, as well as others inspired by summer scenes like Coastal Breeze and Under the Palms.
However if you’re a diehard Jo Malone fan and want to get more for your money, the Jo Malone London Cologne Collection from LookFantastic is a great way to sample different scents on a budget. The set contains five 9ml perfumes in a range of scents, and will set you back £90, meaning you’ll pay £18 each for the scents. Considering the smallest size available on the Jo Malone site is 30ml, which typically costs around £55, that makes it a pretty great deal for perfume lovers.
You can also pick up another must-have summer perfume, Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Eau Fraîche Skinscent, in the LookFantastic sale where it has been slashed from £74 to £59.20.
