Some stores have already started offering discounts ahead of Black Friday on November 28 including Boots, The Range and John Lewis
Brits looking for a bargain before Christmas could be in luck as financial experts have listed some of the best deals to look out for at the moment. According to the team at Money Saving Expert, a number of brands are running what they’re calling “grey Friday” offers.
These are deals that have come slightly earlier than Black Friday, which takes place on November 28. As part of its deal predictions, MSE – which was founded by money expert Martin Lewis, listed offers that are definitely happening as well as ones that are likely in the run up to Christmas.
MSE said: “Our calendar predicts the hottest deals to come, helping you plan the best time to buy and spread the cost of Christmas.” However, it warned: “Take this with a slight pinch of salt.
“This is a predictor, and we’ve had a fairly unpredictable few years.” It continued: “Even though Black Friday isn’t for a few weeks, this is where we see some big retailers kick off their Black Friday sales, and the price-matching commences – so Martin calls it ‘grey’ Friday.”
Here are some of the current deals that are confirmed, including offers from Sky, The Range, and Dyson.
John Lewis
Currently, deals include up to £300 off selected TVs and 20 per cent off selected fragrances, as well as up to 20 per cent off brands such as Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel. MSE said its expecting a much wider range of products to be discounted in the weeks leading up to Black Friday.
These discounts are available until December 1 or when stocks run out.
Dyson
You can get up to £200 off selected items online including vacuums, air purifiers and hair appliances until December 1, though some deals will end sooner.
So far MSE said this included a variant of the popular Airwrap discounted to £359.99 (normally £479.99).
Decathlon
Decathlon is offering up to 50 per cent off selected items online and in stores until December 1 (Cyber Monday). The sale currently includes 1,000 plus items such as trainers, treadmills, and fitness watches from brands such as Adidas and Garmin.

Boots
Discounts vary, and so far MSE has spotted them ranging between 22 per cent and 71 per cent off. For example, Vera Wang Princess Eau de Toilette (100ml) is £18.99 (was £66).
MSE is expecting more items to be added to the sale as we approach Black Friday. These deals are on until December 2 or when stocks run out.
The Range
There’s currently up to 50 per cent off on over 9,000 items included in the sale. This will last until December 2 or when stocks run out.
Halfords
There are deals across a range of products including bikes, tyres, dash cams and car seats. There isn’t a blanket discount across everything – there are varying offers such as 50 per cent off select car cleaning materials, and up to 30 per cent off select electric bikes.
This is available December 3 or when stocks run out.
Sky
New customers can get its 500Mb broadband, digital line, and Sky Stream TV for £35 a month (separately it’d be £43 a month), plus you’ll be emailed a £20 prepaid Mastercard or shopping voucher within four months of signing up. This is on until November 24 or when stocks run out.
