McDonald’s fans were left devastated after a cult-favourite was axed earlier this year. Luckily, the iconic item is making a triumphant return as the chain refreshes its menu for spring
McDonald’s spring menu drops tomorrow – and a cult classic that was axed over Christmas is making a triumphant return.
The fast-food giant regularly refreshes its menu, bidding farewell to some iconic treats to make for new releases. It is in many ways, the McCircle of life – but some departures hurt more than others. As McDonald’s says goodbye today to its Easter Menu, fans struggle to come to terms with the fact they’ll no longer be able to get their hands on the delectable Halloumi Fries.
But it’s not all doom and gloom, as one particular item that had the nation in a chokehold, is coming back. Outrage spewed out on social media earlier this year after the item was axed just days after Christmas…
We’re of course talking about the Galaxy Caramel Pie. The crispy chocolate pastry, filled with a delicious Galaxy Caramel sauce, first graced our menus last year and went down a storm with customers. In fact, the dessert ranked number one in our very own taste test, trumping classics like the Chicken Big Mac and Galaxy McFlurry.
But, the holy grail item was discontinued just weeks into 2024, and Brits weren’t happy. “I think I might cry when McDonald’s stops the Galaxy Caramel Pies,” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Another heartbroken customer said: “I cannot put into words how much I’m going to miss the Galaxy Caramel Pie when McDonald’s takes them off the menu. C’mon lads, we can just keep them…” While a third added: “Would absolutely buy McDonald’s stock of the Galaxy Caramel Pies just so I can eat them forever. The BEST thing ever!”
Luckily, the Galaxy Caramel Pie will return to stores tomorrow, priced at ÂŁ1.99. Again, it will only be available for a limited-time so you’ll have to act quick.

The chocolatey pie will make its return alongside the Galaxy McFlurry (ÂŁ1.99) as well as the highly-anticipated Biscoff McFlurry – which was discontinued six weeks after its debut in 2023. Meanwhile, a new Biscoff Frappe is slated to launch (ÂŁ2.99) – the vanilla drink is blended with ice and Biscoff crumbs and topped with a caramel-flavoured cream and Biscoff crumb dusting.
For those with less of a sweet tooth, fear not, as the iconic Chicken Big Mac (ÂŁ4.69) is also being brought back for a limited time. The triple-layered bun features two chicken breast patties in a crispy coating, lettuce, pickles, cheese, and (of course) Big Mac sauce.
New additions also include the Cheese and Herb Melts (ÂŁ2.89) served in a ‘rich tomato dip’ and a Quarter Pounder Deluxe (ÂŁ4.89). The burger features a 100 per cent beef patty with mustard, ketchup, onion, lettuce, mayo, tomato, pickles and cheese.
