A man was left raging when he placed a very unusual order from his local McDonald’s, and they got it wrong – despite the fact he thought he’d made it crystal clear for them

There’s nothing more frustrating than being excited about your Maccies takeaway, only to tear open the brown bag to find that there’s someone else’s meal in there, or items missing.

When one man ordered a unique order from his local McDonald’s, he was left wondering whether they’d get it right, jibing that they “usually” mess up. He was convinced that they would easily be able to send him a “triple cheeseburger with everything removed” – however, when his order arrived, he was left fuming.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, @greg16676935420 showed followers what he’d ordered. It read: “1 x Triple Cheeseburger. No ketchup. No pickle. No diced onions. No 1/10lb beef. No mustard. No regular bun. No American cheese. No salt”, and the price came to $5.49 (£4.32).

The service fee was $3 (£2.36), the tax was $0.42 (£0.33) and Greg had tipped his delivery driver $11 (£8.65). Altogether, the order came to almost $20, costing $19.81 (£15.58) for a box full of nothing.

He continued his thread: “Hopefully they don’t mess up my order (usually they do).” He then shared a screenshot where his door dasher had sent him a message, explaining that he was going to receive a box of nothing. “You good with that?”, they asked, and Greg responded: “Perfect thank you”.

Greg then joked: “Dan is on his way (thank goodness because I’m getting hungry)”, followed by: “The goods have arrived and thank goodness they sealed it so Dan didn’t steal my meal”, and: “Time to feast” – but that’s when Greg noticed that they’d managed to get it wrong.

Greg fumed: “The wrapper and…. A McCrispy box???????? I ordered a freaking triple burger, not a McCrispy”, followed by two angry emojis. “Somehow they still managed to screw up my order (not your fault Dan if you’re reading this).”

He continued: “I can’t stay silent about this (don’t worry I gave Dan 5 stars)”, sharing that he’d rated McDonald’s two for the misdemeanour. He then showed a screenshot where he explained the situation to his delivery driver, leaving people laughing.

In the comments, people were left baffled at Greg’s commitment to ordering nothing from a fast food restaurant. One wrote: “$19.81 for air”, followed by a crying with laughter emoji. Another wrote: “As a dasher myself, an $11 tip (even on an order where you order something more filling) is a W [win]. Shout out to you for that. Hope McDonald’s gets it right next time.”
