Meghan Markle wore the same designer dress in a promo for her With Love, Meghan Christmas special that she wore for a magazine shoot in 2022 – leading to unfounded speculation
Meghan Markle’s spokesperson has angrily denied unfounded claims she took a designer dress from a photoshoot without permission.
In 2022, the Duchess of Sussex wore a forest green one-shoulder gown by the designer Galvan for a photoshoot with magazine, Variety.
Now, three years on, eagle-eyed fashion watchers noted that Meghan is wearing the same ÂŁ1,300 dress in the latest promo for the holiday special of her Netflix show With Love, Meghan. In the promo for her show, which is set to hit Netflix next week, Meghan can be seen in the dress, lighting candles at a table dressed for dinner.

After realising it was the same dress, an unsubstantiated rumour alleged that the Duchess had taken the designer piece home from the shoot, without asking permission.
However, her spokesperson hit back at the rumour saying: “The insinuation that any items were taken without the full knowledge and agreement of the on-set stylists or their respective teams is not only categorically false but also highly defamatory. Any items kept were done so in total transparency and in accordance with contractual arrangements.”
In addition, a source told the Express that is is “commonplace and prudent” for items from photoshoots to be kept to avoid people auctioning off garments for large sums of money in the future.
It comes just days after Meghan appeared in another high-profile magazine shoot – this time with Harper’s Bazaar. In the revealing interview, she revealed that she was drawn to her husband, Prince Harry’s, “childlike wonder and playfulness”.
Meghan also told the publication she appreciates spending more time with her children because she can work from home. In the cover interview for the magazine, Meghan told of her relationship with Harry, whom she has been with for nine years, saying “he loves me so boldly, fully, and he also has a different perspective because he sees media that I wouldn’t”.
The former Suits actress, 44, said: “No one in the world loves me more than him, so I know he’s always going to make sure that he has my back. You have someone who just has this childlike wonder and playfulness. I was so drawn to that, and he brought that out in me.”
Meanwhile, earlier this week, both Harry and Meghan were seen taking their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet on a rare public outing.
In a series of photos posted to her Instagram stories, Meghan and Harry can be seen smiling as they prepared meals at the Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles (OBKLA), a community-run non-profit kitchen that prepares and distributes meals for people in the city experiencing hardship – alongisde their kids, whose faces were hidden.
Meghan captioned the images “show up, do good”, which is the Archewell Foundation’s mission. A post on the Archewell Foundation website following the visit said it “remains committed to putting compassion into action – serving and uplifting communities locally and globally”.
“As we head into the holiday season, we celebrate those working every day to ensure that no one is left behind, and where the needs of our neighbours are met,” the statement read.
