Meghan Markle has revealed when her holiday special on Netflix will be released, with the festive project set to clash with a major event for the royal family.
The Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram to share that her Christmas-themed special episode of With Love, Meghan will premiere on December 3. On the same day, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will arrive in Britain for an official state visit. Along with the announcement of the premiere date, Meghan shared an image of her dressing a table with festive decor, writing in the caption: “Embrace traditions and make new ones this holiday season. With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration arrives December 3rd on Netflix.”

The streaming special will feature the duchess sharing her preferred Christmas traditions, seasonal crafts and recipes alongside several celebrity guests, as a festive extension of her two-season lifestyle programme.
According to Netflix, the programme will show the Duchess “sharing her favourite holiday traditions, seasonal crafts and family recipes with friends old and new”.
The release of the programme will come on the same day as the three-day German State Visit kicks off in the UK, with King Charles and Queen Camilla set to begin hosting duties of their own at Windsor Castle as they welcome President Steinmeier and his wife, Elke Büdenbender.
The trip will be the first time a German president has been hosted on a state visit in 27 years, and only the fifth state visit from Germany since 1958.
The state visit was confirmed by Buckingham Palace in October, with a statement saying: “The President of Germany, accompanied by Frau Büdenbender, will pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom , hosted by His Majesty The King, from Wednesday 3rd December to Friday 5th December.”
President Steinmeier has visited Britain on several occasions – most recently to attend Their Majesties’ Coronation in May 2023.
The German state visit in December marks the third inward state visit hosted by the King and Queen this year, after French president Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte were hosted in Windsor in July, and US president Donald Trump and First Lady Melania received an invitation for a state visit in September.
While Meghan’s Netflix show will come at the same time as the historic visit, the show may also overshadow another major event for the royal family.
Speculation has arisen that the show could come at the same time as Princess Kate ’s annual Christmas carols concert, which usually takes place during the first week of December, however no official date for the show has been announced.
